We are pleased to announce the release of Courthouse JMS version 3.27! Among a number of additional enhancements and fixes to recognized issues, this release integrates Google Maps with Courthouse JMS and Courthouse eResponse.
The Google Maps addition allows jurors logging on to eResponse to get personalized, step-by-step, transit, driving, or even walking directions from their home address to the court. Courthouse JMS users can use the integrated Google Maps function from within each juror's profile to validate mileage and to seamlessly paste it into the juror's record for payment calculation. Users can also email a personalized map and set of directions directly to a juror from within the juror's profile.
We are pleased to welcome the courts of Washtenaw County, MI to the Courthouse Technologies solution. The County has contracted to purchase Courthouse JMS; Courthouse eResponse; Courthouse IDS, our imaging and data capture solution; as well as Courthouse SummonsDirect, our software-enabled service for NCOA, summons printing and mailing. The multi-location implementation will serve the Circuit Court as well as three surrounding District Courts.
There are two watchwords at Courthouse Technologies: "Innovation" and "Technology." And when we use the term technology, we often mean the Web and the tremendous integration capabilities it brings us.
One such integration that Courthouse Technologies customers can look forward to, is integration with Google Maps. Courthouse JMS already includes the option to automatically calculate juror mileage using "geocoding" (geocoding is a method used to calculate mileage based on the latitude and longitude of a juror's address and the court's address). But, in the next release of Courthouse JMS, the application will include functionality that will allow users to validate that calculation against Google Maps, view the route, and recalculate mileage directly from within the Courthouse JMS application.
Says Paul Arntsen, VP of Product Development "this is the kind of optional functionality that not everyone will use. But for those that do, it will be very useful." Similar to Courthouse JMS's integration with the Courthouse Technologies online Customer Support Center, the integration of Google Maps further illustrates the power of Web based computing. It's also pretty cool.
Courthouse Technologies is pleased to announce that we have been awarded the RFP to implement our jury management solution in both Benton County and Franklin County, Washington. In accordance with the Washington State Interlocal Cooperative Act, additional WA state counties may also make purchases from the RFP.
"I think that our proximity to Washington State gives clients some additional assurance," says Camille Hannah, Support Manager. "We are close by for training, and support." In addition to fewer travel expenses due to proximity, training for both counties will be consolidated, further reducing implementation costs. "Also, being the creators of the jury management systems used in a number of Washington State counties already, we're at home with the jury business practices in the state."
Under the terms of the RFP, Benton County will implement Courthouse JMS, and Courthouse eResponse. Franklin County will implement a similar configuration, adding Courthouse IVR to their implementation. Both Counties may elect also to use SummonsDirect, our NCOA summons printing and mailing service.
Benton County is expected to present the proposed contract to its Board of Commissioners in the coming weeks.
Since the successful installation of Courthouse JMS and upon conclusion of training set for early December, Peoria County, IL is looking forward to a production and seamless 'go-live' in Mid-December.
Courthouse Technologies was awarded the Peoria County RFP in August and has since promptly completed induction of Courthouse JMS. Jury Manager, Stacy Witt, looks ahead to leading her team in the smooth transition to the unrivaled Courthouse JMS.

You might have noticed that the Browser Wars have begun...again! In September Google entered the market with its contender, "Chrome". This brings the total number of browsers (in serious contention) to four: Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, and now Chrome. With Google entering the theater I think the Browser War just got interesting - and serious.
I, myself, run three different browsers on my desktop. I suppose it is part of my job to do so. But people today very often have more than one computer in their lives. That can mean IE at work and Safari at home. So perhaps it will be more common for people to also run multiple browsers on their desktop. Or perhaps a gargantuan corporate merger will produce a definitive victor. Time will tell. What I do know for sure is that the browser landscape is changing and as of this fall our choices just got wider.
In response, I am very pleased to announce that our next full release, Courthouse JMS 4.0 will be a "cross-browser" one, wherein Courthouse JMS will be supported across several of these major browsers. This will give our clients the ultimate freedom to choose not just their preferred browser, but also their preferred client operating system.
My hope, by announcing this today, is to underscore (not just in words but in action) that we at Courthouse Technologies think it's extremely important, as a vendor, to be prepared for the kind of opportunities that technological change brings our customers.
We are pleased to announce the release of Courthouse JMS version 3.26. Among a number of additional enhancements and fixes to recognized issues, this release enables users to create support cases directly from within the Candidate and Case Pop Up screens. Users are able to submit a change request or open a support case, assign it a priority, and describe the exact situation in detail without leaving the JMS. The case is automatically transmitted to Courthouse Technologies' Customer Service Center (CSC) for immediate action.
Paul Artnsen, VP of Product Development, says, "This release has a little something for everyone. We've been working on improvements to the pagination features that were released in version 3.25, as well as user interface improvements that further enhance the performance of JMS. But the big feature is the additional integration with the Customer Service Center." Previous versions of Courthouse JMS already provide integration with the CSC, but only when the user encounters an error or unexpected condition.
Courthouse JMS customers can expect to receive the release by September 26.
Courthouse Technologies is gratified to announce that we have been awarded the bid to implement our jury management solution in Peoria County, Illinois. Peoria County is seeking to purchase Courthouse JMS, as well as Courthouse eResponse, our public facing self-service application for jurors.
Courthouse Technologies President, Scott Kerr says he is very pleased at the prospect of counting Peoria County as a customer. "We have a very positive feeling about the jury and IT staff there which is an essential ingredient in any successful project. And this will be our first Courthouse JMS implementation in Illinois, so it's especially important to us that the project go well." Under the award, the County of Peoria reserves the right to extend bid prices to other counties and municipalities in the state of Illinois.
Courthouse Technologies and the County are presently undergoing contract negotiations and hope to begin implementation in September.
Courthouse Technologies is pleased to have reached agreement with our neighbors to the south in Kittitas County, WA on the purchase of Courthouse JMS, the world's leading web-based jury management software. Implementation of Courthouse JMS replaces the County's aging implementation of the Puget Postings jury management system.
In addition to JMS, Kittitas County will be using Courthouse SummonsDirect, our real-time National Change of Address (NCOA), summons printing, and mailing service. SummonsDirect ensures that summons are printed and mailed only to current addresses, so no summons is ever produced for jurors who have moved out of the County's jurisdiction. The service also updates juror addresses to conform to USPS standards. As a result, undeliverable summons can be reduced by upwards of 90%.
Anna Barnaby, Court Administrator in the Superior Court is delighted to have undertaken an innovative change from their legacy system. Welcome Anna and staff and thank you for your business!
Courthouse Technologies proudly announces our agreement with Leon County, Florida for purchase and county-wide use of Courthouse JMS. Courthouse JMS will replace the County's implementation of the Florida Association of Court Clerks jury management system.
Scott Kerr, Courthouse Technologies' president says, "We are very pleased to have an installation in the state capital. We hope that courts from around Florida find in Leon County a convenient, observable model for dramatically improving their jury operations." Courthouse JMS' extensive configurability and personalization will provide Leon County with maximum flexibility to define the functions, preferences, and shortcuts they want to use, keeping it simple where it needs to be.
In addition to Courthouse JMS, Leon County will be deploying eResponse, our public-facing self-service application for jurors. With eResponse, Leon County jurors will be able to make requests to be excused, disqualified, or deferred twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
Courthouse JMS is built on the Microsoft .NET framework. This platform-independent framework makes is easier to build and support Web-based applications, and enables quick integration with peripheral systems.
Anaheim, CA - Courthouse Technologies once again demonstrated product advancement at the 2008 NACM Annual Conference in Anaheim, CA from July 13 - 17, 2008. It was our aim at this conference to provide attendees with innovative information about court technology solutions.
The NACM 2008 Conference theme 'Partnering for Justice, Caseflow, and Service Excellence' recognized that courts must work effectively with their solution providers to make improvements to achieve "best practices". Such strong partnerships with our customers is what we strive for everyday at Courthouse Technologies.
We are once again pleased to have shared information about our leading-edge jury management system at NACM. We look forward to attending the 2009 NACM Annual Conference from July 7 - 11, 2009 in Boston, Massachusetts.
When you are called to be a juror in Montgomery County, OH, like in any other county, you become an important spoke in the wheels of justice. But unlike in other counties, Montgomery County jurors don't find themselves spending any time in the jury assembly room. The jury management methods in Montgomery County are unique in several respects. But handling unique configurations is where Courthouse JMS excels.
To start with, even though Montgomery County has fourteen court rooms, they don't have the luxury of a jury assembly room. Jurors are summoned to report to a specific judge in a specific courtroom. By using Courthouse Technologies' "Pool by Judge" feature, each judge manages their own pool. The judge and courtroom to which each individual prospective juror has been assigned is printed on the jurors' summonses.
The self-service features of Courthouse eResponse enable the County to process qualification questionnaires online. Courthouse JMS includes a questionnaire template builder which makes it easy to create and publish a qualification questionnaire on the Web. Prospective jurors then log on and fill out the questionnaire. Their responses are automatically updated in the JMS database including those that result in requests to be excused, disqualified or deferred to another date.
On a reporting day, courtroom bailiffs scan their own pool's attendance, create panels from their own pool in attendance, record challenges, and empanel the jury using bar code readers and computer workstations located both in the courtroom and in their offices. They also record jury attendance (or voir dire panel attendance) on days that empanelled jurors subsequently report, and produce certificates of service. Courthouse JMS's roles-based security limits bailiffs' system access to just what they need to do their job.
Another important element for the smooth operation of the process in Montgomery County is Courthouse JMS's framework for creating voir dire seating charts. The system's seating chart template builder allows users to define the physical layout of the courtroom, the aisles, and the seat numbers belonging to each seat in the jury box and gallery. As a by-product of selecting a voir dire panel, bailiffs can then print the seating chart which prints each jurors name in their "seat" in the judge's preferred seating order.
Courthouse Technologies looks forward to our involvement in the Ohio Jury Management Association's annual OJMA Awards and Conference on April 24 & 25 in Dublin, Ohio. This event recognizes excellence in Jury innovation over the past 10 years.
This year's OJMA Conference will focus on superiority in 'Courtroom Technology and Demographic Data' as it pertains to jury selection. Conference delegates will be interested to learn that Courthouse JMS uses a proprietary 7-step process and the 'Mersenne Twister' random number generator to help ensure demographically representative pools. The 'Mersenne Twister' is widely recognized for its speed, statistical randomness, and its very high order of dimensional equidistribution.
'Future Trends' is also a focal point for the OJMA Conference. It is our aim at this conference to demonstrate how web-based applications are the future trend, not just for jury management, but for most software applications in courts. "Cost savings, ease of use, and ease of administration are but some of the reasons that are driving more and more courts toward Web-based environments!" says John Arntsen, Product Specialist.
The founding principle behind OJMA is "Promoting and enhancing jury service through excellent jury management". Conferences such as this allow CHT to demonstrate how excellent Jury Management Software contributes to this goal.
What difference does a phone call make? Quite a bit if you're one of only two jury administrators in Cecil County, MD. In less than 3 months Courthouse IVR has processed over 5,000 telephone calls on the court's behalf.
Once summoned, eligible jurors have the option to call Courthouse IVR's toll-free number to find out details of their jury service, as well as any last minute changes such as unexpected weather conditions. Jurors can also make requests to be disqualified, excused, or deferred to a different date. Such requests are available for processing directly within the Courthouse JMS Jury Management System. Jurors can even receive a return telephone call when their request is disposed of by court staff.
Courthouse IVR enables jury staff to make better use of their valuable time by being freed from repetitive tasks. Even a small jury office can process thousands of juror calls without having to speak directly to the majority of callers. This streamlined operation eliminates unnecessary labor that would take up the better part of a jury administrator's day, leaving staff to concentrate on more pertinent and urgent matters.
Courthouse Technologies is proud to announce our continuous participation in NACM Conferences, including the NACM Mid Year Conference from March 9-11 2008 in Charleston, South Carolina. Opportunities provided by NACM allow us to connect with our customers, study client perceptions and expectations, and understand the issues that are most important to courts.
The NACM Mid Year Conference keynote presentations focused on workshops on proven strategies for
success. Courthouse Technologies shares that ideal, and showcased our unique Web-based jury
management software system to a large gathering of court-technology professionals.
The NACM Conference presentations also addressed dealing with and shaping public perceptions about Court institutions. One of the primary ways that the public perceives Courts is through Jury Service. Our unique Jury Management system makes Jury Service more efficient, provides self-service automation and can dramatically impact the way Candidates experience the justice process.
At Courthouse Technologies, it was our aim at this conference to provide attendees with
information that will improve their court operations by ameliorating public overview of Court
institutions and explore new and innovative court technology solutions.
Courthouse Technologies is enthusiastic about the upgrade to Courthouse JMS from ACS Juror in Okaloosa County, Florida.
Don Howard, Clerk of Courts, and his staff are eagerly awaiting modernized web-based software for use in the circuit courts of Okaloosa. Courthouse JMS will provide winning advantages such as .NET architecture, Web Service functionality and an unbridled support program that is unmatched by ACS.
Besides being equipped with the most technologically advanced jury system available, the strength of the solution for Okaloosa is that Courthouse JMS can be configured to fit the county's current business rules and practices rather than conforming their business rules and practices to fit the software.
"Although Okaloosa is, by comparison, smaller than our client, Miami-Dade, configuring the software to meet their business practices is no less important. Having Okaloosa as a client demonstrates how Courthouse Technologies' single code line provides the solution to any size or jurisdiction of court," states John Arntsen, Product Specialist.
Courthouse Technologies is pleased to announce that the next set of On-Line Training Videos for our flagship jury management product, Courthouse JMS, is now available to all our clients. The JMS Support Portal now includes training videos on: navigating Quickscan, creating new Civil/Criminal Cases, and executing Pool Attendance.
Online training videos are a cost effective tool for our customers that decreases both the burden of, and reliance on, on-site training. Online training videos further supplement continuing education materials already available to customers through Courthouse Technologies' unparalleled online Customer Service Center.
Look for many more outstanding training videos offered by Courthouse Technologies in the New Year!
Since executing our Agreement with the State of Maryland Judiciary to implement Courthouse JMS in fifteen of the State's counties, much planning, support and preparation have been accomplished in a very short period of time. With a go-live date rapidly approaching, priorities such as weekly meetings to discuss everything from technical requirements to summons design have topped the list. However, the most recent and possibly most important aspect of implementing Courthouse JMS, is the intense hands-on training which, for two of the Maryland Judiciary's courts, culminated this week.
Par Johal, one of Courthouse Technologies' top trainers, spent the last two weeks in the state of Maryland, conducting in-depth training on the configuration and use of Courthouse JMS. Every aspect of Courthouse JMS is described in detail, with the opportunity for each user to use the system "hands on" in the training lab as they receive instruction..
With Cecil County being the first Maryland location scheduled to "go-live" (early December), representatives from the State Court Administrator's Office, IT staff, Jury Department heads, and other direct users participated in the 3-day concentrated training session last week. This week Par was joined for training by users from St. Mary's County, who will be going live soon after Cecil County. Users from Allegany and Garrett Counties will receive training in early December.
Courthouse Technologies would like to take this opportunity to thank the exemplary team from the Maryland Judiciary who made implementation of Courthouse JMS happen in such a short timeframe. We look forward to our continued success together on the project.
Courthouse Technologies is delighted that the Lake County, OH Court of Common Pleas will begin production use of Courthouse JMS next week. Lake County will be doing its annual jury draw on November 20, 2007, which will culminate with production and posting of their qualification questionnaires the first week of December.
Because of its Web-based architecture and the system's design, a single implementation of Courthouse JMS can be used by many different physical court locations. Lake County has taken advantage of this capacity and is acting as host, not only for its four Courts of Common Pleas, but also for three Municipal Courts located in the County.
Hands on training for users in Lake County took place in late October. Users participating in training came out with a broad knowledge of our Web-based JMS. We look forward to providing ongoing support to Lake County as they transition to Courthouse JMS
Tarrant County, TX went live this week with the trio of Courthouse Technologies' solutions for jury management, Courthouse JMS, Courthouse eResponse and Courthouse IVR.
We're delighted to be working with Paula Morales, Jury Bailiff at the Tarrant County Courts as she and her staff prepare for the arrival of their first pool of jurors December 3, 2007. Tarrant County selects over 200,000 prospective jurors annually from their source list of approximately 1.2 million records. Jurors may serve in one of nine court locations throughout the county.
Camille J. Hannah, Support Management Specialist, will be traveling to Tarrant County in early December to aide with go-live support. This exclusive service is a convenience that Courthouse Technologies provides as part of our outstanding and unmatched Customer Support Program.
The Courthouse JMS suite of products replaces a mainframe jury management application developed in-house at Tarrant County in the early 1990's.
What to watch for from Tarrant County? We'll keep you posted on future developments in Tarrant County as they begin using Courthouse MDS (our solution for mobile, wireless devices) and a new feature built with Texas courts in mind, "Online Panel Assignment."
Wish you could do more about the long lines of jurors crowding your hallways? Courthouse Technologies has a revolutionary solution. Courthouse MDS now integrates a wireless hand-held PC with a bar-code reader. MDS is presently the only commercial jury management application made for mobile wireless devices, making Courthouse Technologies your mobile jury management specialists.
We're proud to announce that Tarrant County, Texas has recently purchased and taken delivery of 10 units of our advanced MDS system. This system will provide Tarrant with the ease of real-time check-in and check-out of pool members and empanelled jurors from anywhere in their courthouse - the foyer, the hallway, the courtroom, wherever they assemble jurors. This means it will reduce courthouse congestion, save time and money, while increasing efficiency.
Courthouse MDS is another great companion to the Courthouse JMS solution and to our peripheral products, Courthouse eResponse and Courthouse IVR.
October 1-4, 2007
Tampa, FL - Courthouse Technologies once again outrivals the competition
at the 10th annual CTC Conference in Tampa, FL from October 1 - 4 2007.
The Conference took place at the Tampa Convention Center in the heart of
downtown Tampa. It was our aim at this conference to provide attendees
with information that will improve court operations and explore new and
innovative court technology solutions.
Courthouse Technologies even hosted a presentation in the showcase theatre on day two of the Conference entitled "Jury Management Excellence: Where Web Architecture and Expert Design Converge". In this showcase attendees learned how to save time and money, improve service, and explore new revenue recovery opportunities with our end-to-end Web-based jury management system. Participants were very vocal and had many questions; we were told that Courthouse Technologies was the only presentation with feedback from participants!
We are pleased to have shared information about our leading-edge jury management system with many successful court management professionals. We look forward to attending in CTC 11 in 2009 when Courthouse Technologies will be on display, and once again, be showing our best-of-breed jury management solution.
September 28-29, 2007
Courthouse Technologies was delighted to attend our very first Joint
International Judicial Conference right in our home town of Vancouver,
BC from September 28-29, 2007.
The conference was bustling with judges and justices from around the world. Of them, many shared a thirst for knowledge in contemporary developments for today's court processes. Courthouse Technologies not only had the advantage of being the only jury management software booth displayed, but because we have the most advanced software on the market, judges got a true taste at how easy jury management can be.
We hope to be a big part of future AJA Conferences by continuing to impress potential clients with an end-to-end jury management solution for everyday business.
Courthouse Technologies looks forward to our participation in the Joint International Judicial Conference hosted in our home city of Vancouver BC. The conference takes place in the heart of the downtown district, at the Sheraton Wall Center Hotel from September 26-29, 2007.
This is a major conference with North American attraction and Courthouse Technologies is energetic about displaying to key members of the judiciary our leading-edge jury technology. Courthouse Technologies' product specialist Par Johal states, "That this conference is right in our backyard is especially advantageous. Not only will we be showcasing our Web-based jury management system at the conference, but also meeting with prospects customers at our offices for a more in-depth look at our solution and our company. And our prospects have the opportunity to mingle with our existing customers from BC.".
The Joint International Judicial Conference anticipates over 500 judges from across North America will be in attendance. Courthouse Technologies looks forward to once again excelling at spreading the wave of the jury management future straight to the source of Court Management professionals.
The National Center for State Courts presents the 10th annual CTC Conference in Tampa, Florida from October 1-3, 2007. Courthouse Technologies joins the world's largest gathering of court technology decision-makers to showcase our unique Web-based jury management software system.
The NCSC's Court Technology Conference brings together more than 2,500 court professionals from around the world for three days of learning, training and networking. CTC participants learn how to use the latest advances in court technology in ways that help them improve court operations and better serve the public.
Courthouse Technologies' software is built on leading-edge Web architecture using Microsoft .Net technologies. The system offers many significant technical advantages over other commercial jury management systems whether the court is small or large. "CTC is such a large conference with delegates from all over the globe. Our goal is to educate as many professionals about the benefits of .Net Web architecture" states Camille J. Hannah, Product Specialist.
Join us on Wed October 3, at 2:15 pm in Showcase Area #2 or stop by our signature orange booth to see Courthouse JMS in action.
Courthouse Technologies today unveiled its competitive upgrade program for users of jury management systems from ACS Government Solutions and Jury Systems Inc. Among its many benefits, Courthouse JMS is the only commercial jury management system developed for Web architecture. The upgrade is being offered in an effort to encourage customers using less-advanced jury management systems to upgrade to Courthouse's more technically advanced solution. In addition to a substantial price discount, the program offers software support services unlike what customers of ACS and JSI presently receive.
"One of the things we are hearing from the market is how difficult it is for customers of these legacy systems to obtain quality support," says Courthouse Technologies President, Scott Kerr. "It's not unusual for these customers to spend tens of thousands of dollars per year for what amounts to little more than an insurance policy, and a highly questionable one at that." Courthouse Technologies' Online Customer Service Center is integrated with the Courthouse JMS software so that the product itself can open a support case when a user encounters a support issue. Through the online system, users can open, prioritize, and track support cases, add screenshots and case notes. The system offers a large and sophisticated set of knowledge base articles, and users can access a number of online training movies should they need to review some forgotten "how do I do that?"
According to Kerr, just because you're paying support with one of these competing vendors doesn't mean you get any breaks on customizations either. He asserts that the technology platforms on which these older systems are built, make it difficult for the vendors to provide cost effective options. "Because we're using modern technology together with modern design techniques, if, for example, you want the content of a report in Courthouse JMS modified, you have options. Such changes may be made by a sophisticated user, your IT department, by a local vendor, or by Courthouse Technologies if you choose. With other vendors, even though you've got a support agreement, you'd better come with your wallet open and be prepared to stand in line for such customizations."
The competitive upgrade program is anticipated to run for a limited time in 2007. For more information contact the Courthouse Technologies sales team at 1.877.521.2199 or info@courthouse-technologies.com.
Courthouse Technologies is pleased to announce the first release of several On-Line Training Movies for our flagship jury management product, Courthouse JMS. Online training movies are a cost effective tool for our customers that decreases both the burden of and reliance on on-site training. Online training movies further supplement continuing education materials already available to customers through Courthouse Technologies online Customer Service Center. The movies are an exceptional asset for training new employees or re-familiarizing existing employees with Courthouse JMS. Subsequent releases of Courthouse JMS will include embedded links to training movies from directly within the application's user interface.
"We are focused on ensuring that our clients have the most effective continuing education resources possible," says Product Specialist, John Arntsen. "With these on-line training videos, we have made it possible for our clients to receive training on our Jury Management System at their leisure from anywhere in the world." Arnsten adds, "This will also allow new clients to transition from their legacy jury management systems with less effort, more support, and ultimately greater confidence."
Chicago, IL - Courthouse Technologies is once again proud to
have been a part of another successful
conference of the National Association for Court Management. The NACM conference was put on by the
National Center for State Courts and took place from July 8-12, 2007 at the luxurious Fairmont Hotel
in downtown Chicago.
With this year's conference theme being "Court Governance and Accountability", and its purpose being
to raise a more accurate level of performance through practical applications, this was another great
opportunity to show the first Web-based Jury Management System on the market.
We are pleased to have shared information about our leading-edge
jury management system with many successful
court management professionals. We'd like to thank NACM for an always informative and hospitable event.
We look forward to attending next year when Courthouse Technologies will be on display, once again, showing
our best-of-breed jury management solution.
Painesville, OH - Lake County, Ohio Commissioner's Office has contracted with Courthouse Technologies to install Courthouse JMS, eResponse, and IVR. Besides being equipped with the most technologically advanced jury system available, the strength of the solution for Lake County is that Courthouse JMS can be configured to fit the Court's current business rules and practices rather than conforming their business rules and practices to fit the software. "We look forward to this new business relationship with Courthouse Technologies," says Lake County Judge, Hon. Eugene Lucci. "This solution, while an investment in our future, at the same time preserves the way we facilitate jurisprudence here in Lake County."
Lake County will also be provided with the highest level of support through CHT's Customer Service Center (CSC). The CSC ensures that Lake County's support needs are met and their voice is heard by providing access to ongoing continuing education resources like knowledge-base articles, release notes, and online training movies.
Annapolis, MD - The Judiciary of the State of Maryland this week awarded a contract to Courthouse Technologies to implement our web-based jury management and interactive web response systems state-wide in up to 24 court locations. In addition to providing tremendous costs savings on hardware and software infrastructure, the State will benefit from opportunities like centralized, near real-time NCOA processing services made possible through Courthouse JMS's array of Web Services. "This is a great opportunity both for us and for the State of Maryland," says Courthouse Technologies President, Scott Kerr. "The State of Maryland is not a unified court system. Our solution is ideal in this environment because a single, centralized installation of our solution supports many locations without requiring those locations to unify their business practices. Our solution allows our customers to configure (the software) rather than conform." Kerr adds, "this contract, in addition to our state-wide implementation in North Dakota and province-wide implementation in British Columbia, continues to prove the superior suitability of web-based systems for statewide and multiple location implementations."
Courthouse Technologies is excited to announce we will be attending the Federal Court Clerks Association Conference in Tempe, AZ taking place June 26-28, 2007. The conference will be held at the Tempe Mission Palms Hotel in Tempe with a Vendor Fair on June 27th from 11:00am - 3:00pm.
Attended by all of the Federal Courts in the United States, CHT sees this as a jumping off point to introduce the first commercially available Web-based Jury System and to demonstrate the breadth of the system's functionality.
"We know the US District Courts will be interested to see Courthouse JMS because the costs savings from our Web architecture are so substantial given their scale and geographic dispersion," says Paul Arntsen, Courthouse Technologies's Vice President and original author of the Federal court's present JMS. He adds, "And it will allow us to demonstrate how adaptable Courthouse JMS is by showing that our Jury Management System can work at any court, using any business practices."
Courthouse Technologies is pleased to announce we will be attending the Florida Association of Court Clerks Conference in Orlando, FL taking place June 17-20, 2007. The conference will be held at the Disney's Coronado Springs Resort just outside of Orlando.
Courthouse will attend the conference in support of our clients in Florida and because of considerable interest in Courthouse Technologies' suite of Products throughout the state.
"Our presence at a conference that has delegates from Courts from throughout the State of Florida is a great opportunity to spread the word about the world's first Web-based Jury Management System; Courthouse JMS" says John Arntsen, Courthouse Technologies' product specialist.
Courthouse Technologies was pleased to be a part of the OJC Technology Conference that took place in Canton, Ohio on Friday, May 18, 2007. The conference took place at the Kent State University Stark Professional Education & Conference Center and was host to judges, court administrators, clerks, IT managers, bailiffs, probation officers and others who work with and/or make decisions about court technology. Its aim was provide attendees with information that would improve court operations and explore new and innovative court technology solutions. Courthouse Technologies was surprised that they were the only Jury Management System vendor at the conference demonstrating their product. CHT was represented by product specialist, John Arntsen, who conducted a product showcase presentation on Courthouse Technologies's Web-based Jury Management System. Courthouse JMS is the only Web-based jury management system commercially available. The showcase was attended by a number of interested courts. Mr. Arntsen focused his presentation on the jury management system's ability to adapt to a court's business practices without imparting a large psychological investment to the client.

Courthouse Technologies is pleased to announce the launch of our state-of-the-art, integrated Customer Support Center. Part of our commitment to our customers, CHT has always gone to great lengths to create a virtual "safety net" for our customers. We have expanded on this commitment by offering a multitude of new options available over the Web. Customers can open and view the status of their own support cases by logging on to the Customer Support Center through our corporate website. As a Courthouse customer, you can attach screenshots of unexpected issues and ascribe a priority to those cases that need immediate attention. CHT has also created a continually growing knowledgebase of articles that can empower a customer to quickly find a solution to his or her problem in a stress-free manner, simply by typing in a few key-words. More significantly, CHT has integrated our flagship jury management system with our Customer Support Center network by making it possible for the software itself to open a customer support case if and when a system error occurs. Says Product Specialist, John Arntsen, "Courthouse JMS is the only jury management system on the road toward becoming a 'self-healing' application." According to Arntsen, these features in combination with diagnostic features already a part of Courthouse JMS help eliminate one of the most time consuming aspects of issue management - collecting all of the necessary and sometimes hard-to-obtain information - so that CHT can guarantee the fastest possible resolution to customer queries.

Dayton, OH - It was announced this month that the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas will implement Courthouse JMS and eResponse the flagship jury management and interactive web response systems of Courthouse Technologies. Implementation is currently underway with Montgomery County expected to go live with the systems in early 2007. Montgomery County is widely considered a leader in jury management, having received numerous awards from the Ohio Jury Management Association. The implementation of Courthouse JMS leverages the County's existing licenses for Oracle. Courthouse was selected because our solution runs on either SQL Server or Oracle in the same code-line. "This is another example of why Courthouse Technologies' products and services are considered best of breed. We continue to innovate in ways that separate us from our competitors," commented Vice President of Courthouse Technologies, Paul Arntsen.
